Jamie Johnson is a certified professional lifestyle and wellness coach, educator and leader, most recently working in collaboration with The Minds at Work Program at The Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard Ed-X, MOOC (massive open online course). She earned her Professional Wellness Coach Certification from Wellcoaches Inc, of Wellesley, MA. and conducted research at a Primary Care Practice through Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) affiliated with The Institute of Lifestyle Medicine and Harvard Medical School, analyzing the impact of Lifestyle Coaching on pre-hypertensive and hypertensive patients and blood pressure readings. In October 2010, Jamie had her research findings presented at Harvard’s Coaching in Leadership and Medicine Conference, supporting the compelling evidence for changing and sustaining healthy, lifestyle habits through wellness coaching by empowering patients and offering lifestyle and wellness coaching services.
Recently, Jamie held the position as Medical Lifestyle and Wellness Coach. In this role, she served as an advisor, coach and consultant to patients and doctors. Jamie planned, developed and implemented wellness/lifestyle coaching initiatives in personal effectiveness, health and behavior change, performance management serving employees and patients throughout the MGH community. While at MGH, her work was show-cased by MGH and The Stoeckle Center, for Innovative New Programs in 2010
Before joining MGH, Jamie was Director for The Health and Wellness Center with Anthem Blue Cross, a health insurance service company located in S. Portland, ME. Here she was responsible for overall integration of health and wellness initiatives and strategies, including employees from across all business units and management.
Jamie also possesses wellness and lifestyle consulting experience with personal clients throughout New England and the East coast. Her consulting expertise includes working with business leaders to generate key change strategies involving new ways of learning how to implement personal goals for sustaining behavior change and identifying what is preventing clients from being successful. Her wellness initiatives span financial services, healthcare, and academia sectors.
With demonstrated accomplishments in her education and experience, Jamie also holds a Master of Sport Science degree in Fitness and Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy, an Immunity to Change Coaching Certification from the Minds at Work Program affiliated with Harvard's Graduate School of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honors of Distinction, in Health & Physical Education from The Lindenwood Colleges. She was twice named Outstanding Educator and her Anthem Wellness Programs received WELCOA’s Gold Award. She is a member with Harvard Medical School Post Graduate Association, and Institute of Coaching, global leaders for healthcare education. She also received Scholar designation with The Institute of Lifestyle Medicine and their Preceptorship Program for physicians.
